The Audiologist provides a full range of audiological services, including evaluation of the peripheral and central auditory systems as well as the vestibular system; plans and implements habilitative/rehabilitative measures and/or interventions as appropriate.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
- License or provisional license in the State of Virginia as an Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dealer required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment:
- Current licensure as an Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dealer required within 90 days of employment.
- Current CC-A certification preferred.
Experience:
- REQUIRED: No work experience required - entry level.
- PREFERRED: One (1) year of work experience following certification preferably in an outpatient setting.
Education/Training:
- REQUIRED: Masters Degree in Audiology from an accredited program.
- PREFERRED: Doctoral Degree in Audiology (AuD or PhD) from an accredited program.
Independent Actions Required:
- Provides patient care and diagnostic testing within license scope following physicians' orders.
- Recommends appropriate cochlear implant/hearing aid options based on testing and patient preference.

Works in both MCVH and MCVP clinics as directed by supervisor.
