Position Profile: The Nursing Team Lead is responsible for providing clinical leadership and supervision to the nursing staff within the detox program at Milestone. This role involves coordinating and overseeing nursing activities, ensuring high-quality client care, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Nursing Team Lead will report directly to the MMW Program Director and collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to optimize client outcomes.
Qualifications Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, a minimum of two (2) year(s) clinical experience and current State of Maine licensure as a Registered Nurse. Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Has a history of working with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel). Willing to become certified in rapid access testing in the state of Maine. Has a willingness and desire to work collaboratively with the leadership team to solve issues and improve both the quality and the quantity of recovery services to our clients. Experience with chronic substance use disorder and/or mental illness is a plus.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical guidance, leadership, and support to the nursing staff within the detox program.
- Oversee and coordinate nursing schedule and activities, ensuring adherence to established protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing regular feedback and coaching.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality and compassionate client care within the detox program, in accordance with evidence-based practices and professional standards.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, medication administration guidelines, and client safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date client records, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and other documentation as required by the MMW Program Director.
- Assist in collection and analysis of data related to client outcomes, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation processes.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team, including physicians, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure effective communication and coordination of client care.
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and the MMW Program Director, conveying information, concerns, and suggestions for program improvement.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, providing input and expertise on nursing-related matters.
- Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in addiction nursing and incorporate them into the program’s policies and procedures.
- Assist with on-call coverage for nursing call outs.
- Accept and perform other duties as assigned
Physical demands and work environment: Freedom of movement on a regular basis. Operating basic office equipment in a normal office environment. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. May spend extended periods operating a desktop computer, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity; physical activity requires walking, bending, standing and lifting.
Compensation: Compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $82,000 annually, based on experience.
