Director Corporate OB Women’s Health Service Line
Position Summary:
This position will be the administrative champion of quality, safety, and patient/family experience for the Women’s Health service line. The Director, along with the Chief Medical Director, will provide operational leadership and support for program growth and development, innovation, and continuous improvement and will be accountable for achieving system goals established by the Maternal & Neonatal Health Steering Committee.
The Director will collaborate with obstetric, gynecologic, neonatology, and newborn clinicians and nursing leaders (and associated collaborating services such as anesthesia, emergency medicine, etc.) across McLaren Health Care, including specialty-based clinical programs, subsidiary administration, and the McLaren Medical Group and McLaren Health Plan to ensure an integrated Women’s Health program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned:
- In coordination with subsidiary leaders, will have administrative responsibility, accountability, and oversight for the planning and direction of clinical and operational activities of the Women’s Health service line.
- Manages the System Maternal and Neonate Oversight Committee and other working groups identified by the committee in collaboration with the Medical Director.
- Evaluates current programs and develops new programs to ensure high quality comprehensive Women’s Health services, including care of neonates, across the health system.
- Responsible for interpreting and developing evidence-based patient care standards, provisions of quality health services, resource allocation, and fiscal management.
- In collaboration with the Chief Medical Director, monitors the standards of nursing practice, ensures availability and appropriate utilization of needed human and technical resources.
- Supports collaboration with other divisions and disciplines for desired patient outcomes and timely customer service and participates in efforts to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan.
- Master’s degree in nursing or health management
- Experience in both Labor & Delivery and Maternal, Child Health, along with strong leadership skills.
- 5 years of Obstetrics & Gynecology experience with progressive managerial or supervisory work.
Preferred:
- Advanced Degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP, ARNP).
- Experienced in OB/ GYN service line development.
- Experienced with inpatient hospital service lines.
