Behavioral Medicine Center: Outpatient Services - (Unscheduled, Day Shift)

The Outpatient Psychotherapist demonstrates advanced clinical, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills. Serves as a resource to other clinical therapists and the multi-disciplinary team members. Conducts clinical services, participates in case management, discharge planning, and intervenes in high-risk situations. The Outpatient Psychotherapist complies with all legal and regulatory reporting requirements, interventions, documentation, and referrals. Collaborates with the treatment team, collateral contacts, and community agencies to deliver the highest quality patient care services. Works within the scope of designated state license to provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed staff. If in a recovery program, at least two years of sobriety is required for staff and at least five years for Management. Performs other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a master's degree in Social Work, marriage and family therapy, counseling-related field, or a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from a regionally accredited institution.
- A current BBS license is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a behavioral health care setting is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an acute psychiatric facility with age-specific population is preferred.
- MFT, LPCC, Psychologist, or LCSW license is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of psychotherapy theory and techniques.
- Able to identify the need for supervision and consultation, utilize such appropriately, and accept direction.
- Able to read, write legibly, and speak in English (Spanish preferred) with professional quality.
- Proficient in using computer, online capability (telehealth), and necessary software programs.
- Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
- Able to work calmly and respond courteously under pressure.
- Able to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
- Able to think critically and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to manage multiple assignments effectively and work well under pressure.
- Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care.
- Able to hear sufficiently for general conversation and identify sounds associated with the workplace.
- Able to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary for the position.
- Able to discern temperature variances through touch.
