Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking an Echocardiographer to join the Non-invasive Lab Team!
Shift: Part-Time - 8 hour shifts rotating between 6am to 5pm.
Position Overview:
Unit has 5 rooms for Echos. Echocardiographer will perform Echo and Stress Echo tests, Transesophageal (TEE) Echocardiogram, and Doppler ultrasound. Echocardiographer will work in Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR, ICU and will also work with patients at the bedside.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Level Degree, Associate's Level Degree - CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGY OR High School Diploma.
- Echo Tech experience in lieu of education: Yes
License and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support Required
- Adult echocardiography registry (ARDMS, RDCS or RCS) required within 12 months of hire.
Other:
- At least 1 year of echocardiographer experience is preferred

Job Summary: Performs two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.
Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines. Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS or RCS or RDCS) within in 12 months of hire.
Qualifications:
ALD - Associate's Level Degree: Cardiovascular Technology, BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree: Cardiovascular Technology, HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
