Purpose:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated GAAP Senior Financial Analyst to help prepare and analyze the Company’s quarterly and annual consolidated results. This exciting opportunity includes gathering and understanding relevant data points, helping explain and message important drivers of results and providing variance analyses for management and external stakeholders to understand the key drivers of our business each period. The Senior Financial Analyst will also collaborate with several teams to complete external documents, including the Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) section of the quarterly 10-Q, the MD&A and Business sections of the annual 10-K and various other documents including Investor Relations, Marketing and Rating Agency presentations.
Accountabilities:
- Understand key financial and operational drivers of performance and track, analyze and report management information in a clear and concise manner.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of key business drivers and profitability.
- Conduct deep dive analyses of specific targeted areas to understand and help explain results to management.
- Help prepare written commentary variance reporting at both the detailed and executive summary levels.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly GAAP earnings materials for executive meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual MD&A process.
- Support the Investor Relations, Marketing and Capital teams in helping prepare quarterly earnings documents and external communications.
- Assist with control documentation and processes by reviewing and gathering support for the financial balances presented externally.
- Actively participate in various finance projects and initiatives each year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years GAAP financial reporting experience, with experience in public accounting or in the insurance industry preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to research and understand new transactions in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to proactively work with multiple teams to help deliver consolidated financial results.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks and help meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient within Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Oracle, Essbase and Workiva’s Wdesk.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a CPA designation preferred.
