Purpose
Responsible for account administration and billing functions for the Mortgage Capital Markets operations team in the U.S. ensuring plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, procedures and with the global GWO utility.
What You’ll Do
- Act as primary liaison to Mortgage Capital Market clients for operational account administration related items, including execution of client and custodian account agreements and inquiries, set up of credit facility in loan platform and storage and maintenance of relevant documentation in line with Bank retention policies. Process monthly billing and statements to clients and resolve any issues identified accordingly.
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Ensure the proper completion of daily, weekly and monthly processes by self or Analyst for servicing of Mortgage products.
- Develop a robust understanding of supported GBP products and address client & internal inquiries in a timely & professional fashion, providing prompt resolutions & further troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Identify, create and/or maintain operational controls to mitigate risk and drive efficiencies in all processes.
- Clearly interpret & lead/support team with any ad-hoc work as needed, including but not limited to regulatory requests or special projects.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
