The Role
We are looking for an analytical team player who has a unique background working in both accounting and financial analysis roles within a professional environment or the healthcare industry. You will work on our Practice Consulting team within our Advisory division as a Senior Financial Accountant. In this role, you will report to the Project Director, and be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, financial reporting packages, and related financial analysis for multiple reporting entities. Assessments will be requested by client, by location, and by line of business basis and will likely include benchmarking based upon similar clients' results and/or national benchmarks. You will be responsible for presenting the analysis to members of the Practice Consulting team. In addition, you will be responsible for responding to ad hoc report requests from senior management, clients, and other vendors.
Key Result Areas
- Prepares intermediate to complex schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance in areas like loss reserves, income taxes, consolidation eliminations, and cash flow statements.
- Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Performs financial analysis, including analysis of financial statement fluctuations and budget-to-actual comparisons.
- Generates timely financial statements for various audiences, including leadership teams, board of directors and committees, banks and regulators.
- Collaborates with external auditors, prepares exhibits, and supports financial statements for audits. Creates reporting packages for internal and external audiences, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements for financial filings and tax returns.
- Documents business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
- Collaborate on special projects, other analyses, and administrative items as needed or assigned.
- Design and manipulate spreadsheets as required.
Skills
- Must possess well-developed accounting and analysis capabilities and demonstrated computer literacy including strong financial modeling skills.
- Working knowledge of accounting standards.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and database navigation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field of study.
- Must have two to three years of experience working in the healthcare industry in a finance or accounting position.
- Three to four years of financial and/or managerial accounting or other relevant experience.
- Experience reviewing the work of others.
- Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Experience in General Ledger, Patient Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, etc.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Master’s in accounting or finance, MBA, or demonstration of required knowledge skills and abilities preferred.
