Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Collaborate with VP Sales to conduct strategic financial analyses, including executive summaries, cost-benefit analyses, and pricing/funding strategies for Ancillary lines of coverage.
- Data Analysis: Review claim/plan/participation data to inform decisions and recommendations related to new and renewal business, maximizing participation on voluntary lines of coverage.
- Stewardship Meetings: Analyze data for annual Stewardship meetings, including participation and enrollment/education strategies to increase coverage/participation.
- RFP Review: Review financial summaries on Request for Proposals (RFPs) and renewals against carrier proposals to ensure accuracy.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, applying knowledge to enhance departmental processes.
- Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance, education, and support to the team.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5+ years in Ancillary underwriting required.
- Skills: Strong mathematical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Education: College degree or 5-7 years of equivalent work experience strongly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Teams) required. Proficiency with Power Pivot, Tableau, and other reporting and analytic software is helpful.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with internal and external parties at all levels.
- Detail-oriented: A detail-oriented approach to work, focusing on accuracy and precision in analysis and reporting.
- Time Management: Ability to multi-task, adjust to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
