With 90 years of history, Harkins Theatres is looking for a Staff Accountant I who will be responsible for various general ledger duties, including posting journal entries, bank reconciliations, sales tax, and corporate deposits.

What You Will Be Doing: - Prepares weekly bank deposits for corporate revenue.
- Manages weekly bank change order requests.
- Posts weekly/monthly general ledger journal entries for select accounts, including service fee revenue, interest expense, bank fees, etc.
- Weekly/Monthly monitoring and updating of fixed assets and calculating of depreciation & use tax.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepares monthly general ledger work papers and accruals for select accounts.
- Monthly processing of city and state sales tax for select revenue streams.
- Regular attendance and physical presence at the work site.
- Sets high standards for self while maintaining company standards, policies, and procedures to ensure delivery of the ultimate moviegoing experience at all times.
- Maintains a professional working environment while setting a positive and professional example.
- Requires typing on a computer, reaching, stretching, twisting, bending, sitting, standing, walking, carrying light items, interacting with others, speaking on the telephone, problem-solving, and cognitive skills.
Additional Duties: - Cross-trains and supports all staff accounting positions.
- Assists in monthly general ledger account analysis.
- Assists in preparation of year-end work papers for auditors.
- Prepares and distributes reports to other internal departments as well as external third parties.
What We Are Looking For: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent college-level schooling/experience combination.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet research. NetSuite and Sage Fixed Assets are preferred.
- SQL experience a plus.
- Proficiency with 10-key by touch.
- Able to read/write in English.
- Able to work independently and/or with a team.
- Organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
- Able to multi-task and navigate aggressive deadlines.
- Maintains a professional attitude and demeanor. Demonstrates unimpeachable integrity and accountability. Communicates professionally in all circumstances.
