We are recruiting for a Planner Analyst who enjoys looking for trends and performing data analysis.
The Planner Analyst performs data analysis and preparation of statistical reports based on information derived from onboard monitoring equipment, including automated vehicle locator (AVL), passenger counting systems (APC), Smartcard or electronic farebox collection systems. In this role, you will conduct analysis of ridership trends, system performance and other strategic information captured within a transportation planning database. Additionally, as a Planner Analyst, you will participate in local and regional stakeholder group meetings and planning activities for multimodal solutions to the region’s traffic and transportation problems.

PAID LEAVE:
Full-time Pierce Transit employees receive 11 paid holidays, 2 personal paid holidays, 6 days of major sick leave, 22 days of paid time off (PTO) per year, and the ability to earn up to 2 Wellness Days by participating in a qualifying wellness activity and the annual survey. PTO accrual rates increase per policy.
If you're not currently living in the Lakewood-area, that's not a problem! We may be able to help with reimbursing up to $2,500 in moving expenses for those who physically relocate their primary residence to the Pierce/King/Thurston County area (substantiated with receipts).

- Performs analyses of bus stop and route level ridership data to inform route enhancement or route change decisions. Conducts detailed analyses of schedule-related data, including run times and on-time performance of buses.
- Conducts data reduction analysis and reporting in response to data requests. Creates and modifies custom reports. Develops database queries and reduces large data sets for analyses and resolving questions and inquiries from internal and external customers/stakeholders.
- Conducts statistical analyses and creates data visualizations of analyzed data for presentation and submission to various data request sources.
- Makes recommendations and assists in the preparation of transportation plans.
- Attends internal and external meetings. Collaborates with other departments on special projects to improve agency efficiency and operations.
- Responds to customer service related comments, suggestions, and requests. Prepares materials and conducts community workshops.
- Demonstrates regular and consistent attendance.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in conducting analysis, trending, and performance measurements. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Desired:
- Public sector experience desired.
- Arch GIS Pro, Geo referencing, Geo coding.

Valid Washington State driver's license at time of hire.

Physical Requirements:
- The position involves sedentary work, such as exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Working Conditions:
