GELITA USA, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Director of Accounting & Finance. This position will report directly to the General Manager.
This position is responsible for all financial and administrative functions of Gelita North America - including Accounting, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Tax Compliance, Risk Management and Compliance, as well as support and implementation of business strategies in alignment with corporate objectives and policies.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Represents the Company in local community affairs and manages charitable giving and sponsorships.
- Acts in an official capacity as a Director and Officer of all USA legal entities and the company's legal Mexican subsidiaries.
- Coordinate (with 3rd party preparer) and authorize filing of Federal, State and local tax returns.
- Manage and control all elements of business risk within the Company.
- Manage local Risk Management and Compliance Systems in a manner consistent with Global Policy, including reporting as required for development of new or ongoing risks.
- Manage external Legal relationships as required, including coordinated review of commercial agreements (e.g., contracts and confidentiality agreements).
- Manage insurance brokerage relationships to secure coverage necessary to protect USA operations (e.g., Property, Casualty, General and Product Liability and other Business coverage) as required.
The qualified candidate will have:
- BA or BS in Accounting or Finance.
- MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of relevant business experience, including progressive management and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Practical and working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting practices.
Additionally, candidates should have exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities along with a fact-based mindset. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed with the ability to communicate (written and orally) with all levels within a multi-cultural business environment. Advanced MS Office skills required and experience with an integrated ERP system or SAP preferred. Must have high integrity, trustworthiness, and the ability to handle confidential information. Strong leadership and team-building skills along with the ability to work and interact with personnel throughout the global and local organization.
