Prepares financial reports, conducts special projects, and provides financial analysis to all levels of management.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and interprets management information and other financial reports.
- Analyzes financial documents, statistical data, historical data and presents to and interprets for management.
- Participates in the establishment and maintenance of cost accounting systems.
- Audits accounting systems, reconciles data, and resolves technical problems or recommends solutions when appropriate.
- Analyzes trends and possible consequences.
- Recommends and implements improvements that affect accounting systems and departmental operations.
- May prepare and monitor departmental budget.
- May provide training on financial issues or procedures or provide guidance to more junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); plus two years of related experience. Also required are a thorough knowledge of established accounting principles and practices; spreadsheet and database skills; knowledge of statistics and demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relation and effective communication skills required.
- An advanced degree, such as a Master’s of Business Administration, is preferred. Certain positions may require familiarity with hospital billing systems, Medicare and insurance reimbursement regulations, etc.
- This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
