Summary: The Tax Senior is primarily responsible for the preparation and/or review of federal and state compliance work.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, due to the scope of responsibilities, this position may direct the work of others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Review and/or prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C-corporations, trusts, and individuals.
- Review and/or prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships.
- Review fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships.
- Review various year-end tax calculations such as computation of demo wages.
- Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships.
- Assist in gathering information for tax audits.
- Assist office managers with any tax questions they may have.
- Research federal, state, and local tax issues.
- Responsible for the mentoring of staff.
Qualifications:
- 4-Year accounting degree.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be a “Team Player.”
- Ability to handle pressure.
- Handle directions with minimal supervision.
- 3-4 years experience in the preparation of tax returns.
- Working knowledge of applicable tax law and regulations.
- Proficient computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet applications.
- Experience in Prosystem Tax and Prosystem Engagement is a plus.
