Position Summary: The Manufactured Goods Manager is responsible for overseeing the production, packaging, and distribution of manufactured cannabis products, such as edibles, flower, pre-rolls, and other product lines. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards, regulatory compliance, and production efficiency goals. The manager will also be tasked with managing a team, optimizing production processes, and maintaining inventory levels to meet demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production Management:
- Oversee daily operations of manufacturing cannabis goods, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
- Implement and manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production, packaging, and labeling.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory guidelines related to cannabis production.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor the quality of manufactured products and ensure they meet state and federal regulations, including potency, purity, and labeling requirements.
- Develop and execute quality control protocols for each product line.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and manage a team of production workers, ensuring they are trained on safety procedures, compliance, and best practices.
- Conduct performance reviews, set team goals, and provide ongoing training and support.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Manage raw material inventory, finished goods inventory, and packaging supplies.
- Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of necessary materials and products.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and optimize production efficiency.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all operations meet the regulatory requirements set by the state’s cannabis control authority.
- Maintain detailed records of production, inventory, and waste disposal.
- Prepare reports for internal and external audits.
- Product Development:
- Collaborate with the R&D team to introduce new products and improve existing formulations.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and consumer preferences.
- Process Optimization:
- Evaluate current production processes and implement improvements for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to streamline manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, operations, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production management role, preferably in the cannabis, food, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis regulations, safety standards, and quality control.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and production tracking tools.
