Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years of managerial experience overseeing a team. This role requires a strong knowledge of construction accounting, a deep understanding of QuickBooks, and the ability to mentor and develop a staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Lead and mentor staff providing training, support, and performance evaluations to ensure high quality work and professional growth.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and reconciliation of accounts.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with project managers and senior management to manage project budgets, cash flow, and provide financial insight to support decision making.
- Review and approve all payroll processing, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including job costs.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and project specific financial reports.
- Coordinate audits and tax filings with external auditors and tax professionals.
- Manage the implementation and optimization of accounting systems ensuring that processes are efficient and scalable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
- 5-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in the construction industry or similar field is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop and online) and other accounting software including job costing; familiarity with Netchex software is a plus.
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development and collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with progress billing, change orders, and work-in-progress (WIP) reports.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing internal controls.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,840.00 - $74,233.00 per year
