Summary and Objective: The Accounting Manager will assist the Controller with the month-end close process, with the day-to-day financial operations of their brands, and with oversight of the Staff Accountants. The Accounting Manager has overall responsibility for the integrity of the general ledger, general accounting functions and the maintenance of appropriate controls for their industrial brands.
**Hybrid schedule of 3 days in office per week**
Essential Functions
- Responsibility for integrity of the general ledger and the maintenance of appropriate controls.
- Responsibility for the monthly close process and monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and P&L accounts for multiple brands across multiple ERPs.
- Work closely with FP&A in preparation of monthly management reporting.
- Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
- Provides request and support to external auditors, as required.
- Provide professional financial and accounting support to operational initiatives.
- Responsible for sales and use tax and property tax, including coordination of information sharing with external tax provider.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to management for multiple brands.
- Provide support for special ad-hoc projects and analytics as required.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- CPA designation or working towards CPA preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in a large commercial business, multi location or industrial distribution preferred. Public accounting experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills: including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP required.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong analytical, communication (both written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, under tight timelines and pressure.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
