Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to support the finance department as the primary point of contact for matters related to the manufacturing plant, with heavy emphasis on cost accounting.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all manufacturing cost accounting related activities including month end close, analysis of P&L fluctuations, balance sheet reconciliations, standard cost setting, inventory management and related overhead absorptions.
- Drive operational continuous improvements and efficiencies on labor & overhead burden to improve business profitability.
- Develop and drive gross profit expansion analysis.
- Create product and customer profitability analysis with emphasis on pricing decisions, risk management and contract negotiations.
- Create processes to perform variance analysis such as purchase price variance, material usage variance, efficiency variance and labor rate variance.
- Review and monitor daily inventory adjustments/transfers and Negative inventory.
- Develop activity-based costing for overhead departments.
- Review, report and provide commentary/analysis of costs against prior periods, plan and latest forecast.
- Participate in the maintenance and review of manufactured items and prepare cost estimate for new products.
- Assist with the plant’s annual budget process, monthly and quarterly revenue and profitability forecasting.
- Assist with and ensure successful audits.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses and assist production team with research on cost accounting questions.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
- Lead Inventory management processes – physical inventory, cycle count, RMA process, variance analysis.
- Review and monitor new customer Tooling set up, including monthly revenue recognition and reconciliation.
- Support AR and AP team with any research and review.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience, with 3-5 years in a manufacturing organization.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to keep a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Ability to drive business operating results.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
- Knowledge of Epicor ERP system.
