Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District invites you to become an integral part of our team! We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our accounting team. Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the general accounting team, including AP, materials management, payroll, and accounting. This role supports the hospital's financial goals through effective management of financial records, budgeting, and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
- Oversee, mentor, and develop accounting and payroll staff to enhance their performance and professional growth.
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper GL coding.
- Receive, record, and deposit cash, checks, and vouchers.
- Reconcile records of bank transactions and report discrepancies found in financial records.
- Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
- Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals.
- Compute deductions for income and social security taxes.
- Complete and submit tax forms and returns, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
- Calculate costs of materials, overhead, and other expenses, based on estimates, quotations, and price lists.
- Assist the CFO to compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
- Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
- Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Follow safety guidelines and policies for the Hospital District.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education
Required
Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field.
Experience
Required
1 year: At least one (1) year in a supervisory role, required.
5 years: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, required. Healthcare or hospital accounting experience, preferred but not required.
