We are looking for a Tax Analyst to join our team. This position supports six HOERBIGER Business Units located in the United States.
The Tax Analyst is responsible for overseeing the tax aspects of the HOERBIGER entities in the United States and serves as an expert in tax issues (in close cooperation with the global tax function) – both on a strategic as well as operational (tax compliance and accounting) level. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role (no direct reports). In the US, we are a $300 million company.
Successful candidate should reside in the southeast Florida area to be available for periodic training and meetings. This is a full-time, remote position which joins a supportive work environment and includes an excellent benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit timely US corporate tax filings (federal, state and provincial) in coordination with external tax advisor.
- Oversee and review US tax filing for foreign corporation (e.g. Form 5471s/5472s/1118s etc.) and foreign affiliate reports, including withholdings, elections and disclosures.
- Prepare calculation of the estimated quarterly tax payments.
- Prepare US and Canadian tax provisions and related workpapers at quarter and year-end and analyze tax position - oversee proper accounting of current and deferred taxes.
- Reconcile tax returns to the financial statement provision.
- Streamline the tax provision and tax compliance process.
- Oversee and monitor compliance in non-income tax areas (Sales Tax, withholding taxes, others).
- Participate in international tax research and planning projects, including acquisitions and other special projects.
- Prepare and submit various Federal Surveys as requested by various US agencies to report activity with the US's related parties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a preference for a Master’s degree in Accounting
- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
- Experience (5+ years) at a national CPA tax firm
- Experienced in domestic and multi-state tax compliance, including experience with Section 263(a) Unicap, and R&D tax credits. Also, experience with Forms 1118, 5471, and 5472
- Requires advanced knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws, as well as an understanding of global manufacturing and service business
- Experience using SAP and SAGE Fixed Asset software
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Excel required
- Demonstrated ability to provide clear tax guidance, coach and align with management, other functions, and Corporate
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work with people from different cultures are critical
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
