The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
The Department of Youth and Community Development's Procurement unit is looking for a talented Staff Analyst to manage several program portfolios amongst various DYCD units by offering analytic support, training and guidance to ensure contractor and DYCD compliance in support of DYCD's mission and vision.
Responsibilities:
- Review DYCD database and management tools to assure vendors are meeting contractual services and performance goals.
- Work collaboratively with various DYCD units to track vendor performance over the course of the contract term, including reviewing programmatic and fiscal reports, and providing technical support to vendors.
- Review DYCD data base and management tools to assure DYCD units are meeting expectations and performance goals.
- Track DYCD's performance over the course of a fiscal year, including reviewing registration data, setting and reporting on cycle times, and developing reporting metrics for registration and payments made to DYCD contractors.
- Complete detailed performance reports and annual summaries for DYCD leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described above.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Experience in contract or program monitoring and/or management.
- Strong organizational, analytical, proofreading, and writing skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to converse professionally with executive, programmatic, and administrative staffing of an organization.
- Ability to problem solve while balancing competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.
- Maintain an enthusiastic work ethic and work well with others in a diverse team environment.
Residency Requirement:
NEW YORK CITY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF APPOINTMENT. Candidates with two (2) years of City service may reside in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties.
