Senior Inventory Accountant – ensures the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of accounting information, recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in the Subledgers & General Ledger. The Senior Inventory Accountant is accountable for recording inventory and maintenance spend, generating inventory reports and responsible to ensure accounting practices are aligned to corporate policies, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS, as applicable. This role will liaison among the Accounting, Inventory Supply Chain and Maintenance Departments to ensure accurate, timely reporting of inventory and maintenance accounting data.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs the day to day accounting work ensuring timely completeness and integrity of financial information. Generally responsible for the end-to-end process in the assigned jurisdiction while maintaining standardized practices, internal controls and procedures.
- Review variance, budget and forecasting analysis, perform accounting and reporting on maintenance and inventory expense.
- Prepare Month End Supply Chain transaction and inventory reports using material movement and accounting documents from SAP or RAMCO; analyze all inventory transactions.
- Lead monthly meeting with Maintenance Managers and Fleet Support.
- Produce monthly management reporting on Maintenance and Repair (M&R) expense.
- Global Inventory Reserve Analysis:
- Coordinate Inventory Reserve Review with Management.
- Coordinate Stock Write Down or Maintenance Expense Journals for Reserve.
- Draft Inventory Reserve Memo for Management review.
- Help develop coordinated D&E process for new fleet types.
- Update Inventory Reserve fleet plan.
- Update Inventory Reserve model.
- Participate in the monthly accounting close cycle and ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Prepare and book recurring and nonrecurring journal entries.
- Prepare monthly Inventory, Maintenance and other Supply Chain transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis and research balance sheet and profit and loss account variances.
- Assist in the performance of SOX controls critical to the close process to ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of internal process documentation.
- Develop and utilize in depth knowledge of the Company’s financial reporting tools (Hyperion/OneStream) and general ledger and inventory accounting package (SAP/RAMCO) to gather information for internal reporting.
- Prepare schedules relating to inventory, and assist the internal & external auditors in their inquiries.
- Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to inventory.
- Ad Hoc requests, schedules and reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Must have at least 6+ years of experience, preferably in the energy services industry.
- Must have ERP General Ledger accounting experience, preferably SAP.
- Experience in working with legal entities and foreign currencies across international locations.
- US GAAP experience and IFRS experience, specifically pertaining to inventory.
- Experience working in a global, international organization.
