The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for managing Portillo’s benefits processes and timelines, compliance requirements, FMLA and ADA administration, benefits billing and reconciliation, and time off programs. This position builds strong relationships with all benefit vendors and carriers and provides excellent customer service to our team members.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborates with vendors and Team Members to understand and promote benefits.
- Independently troubleshoots issues and resolves problems related to the health and welfare plans, eligibility, life events, enrollment, systems, etc.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for Portillo’s benefits.

- Administers the Leave of Absence and ADA process including managing the vendor relationship, responding to inquiries, and timely communications with team members and leadership.
- Manages all benefit billing to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments.
- Oversees the administration of the 401(k) and Non-Qualified Retirement Plans including being the point of contact for the yearly auditing, working with the vendor on compliance and reporting requirements, and managing the education program.
- Manages the time off program for Portillo’s including policy creation and administration, auditing, and ensuring compliance with all state and city requirements and changes.

- Responds to any escalated benefits issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Is a key contributor to the annual Open Enrollment process including planning, implementation, and communications.
- Serves as the HCM system expert for the benefits, time off, and leave modules including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting in partnership with the HRIS team.

- Serves as a project lead for any new benefit implementations.
- Manages the voluntary benefits programs and works to drive awareness, communication, and engagement in the programs.
- Executes duties following established policy and procedure, overseeing highly confidential employee data in accordance with established policy and procedure.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Benefits Manager and will interact with team members, field management, senior management, as well as various departments at the Restaurant Support Center and Portillo’s Food Service.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Level/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
Work Experience
- 3 - 5 years of benefits administration experience.
