The Position:
The Pharmacy Manager will oversee the overall management of the Pharmacy and the staff’s completion of professional assignments. The Pharmacy Manager will direct high quality pharmacy services and provide medical supplies to customers and patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and laws regulating pharmacy practice. Responsibilities include:
- Directs pharmacy and operations functions to ensure effective operations
- Demonstrates understanding of USP 797 standards, USP 800 standards, and current State Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations.
- Provides and/or oversees compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services prescribed by physicians or other mid-level practitioners and authorized medical personnel in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures that all pharmacy operations, practices and procedures meet all licensing and standards requirements established by local, state and federal agencies
- Conducts initial and ongoing assessment of specific patient, drug and disease information to identify real and potential drug-related problem or needs
- Prepares formulations for solutions/medications, and ensures the accuracy of the preparation; may oversee work of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Interns
- Participates in the preparation, distribution, security and maintenance of controlled substances
- Ensures that all documentation necessary to support the billing process is completed and available in a timely manner
- Selects, trains, develops and motivates a competent staff to procure, prepare and provide quality pharmacy services and medical supplies to patients and customers
- Planning and implementation of departmental budget
- Participates in and maintains on–call schedule for pharmacists and covers as needed
Schedule:
- Typical Business Hours, M-F 8:30am - 5:00pm with availability to work some evenings 11:30am-7pm as needed
- On-call availability as back up
Requirements
- Specialty pharmacy or home infusion experience preferred
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) professional degree
- Minimum 7 years Pharmacist experience, preferably sterile compounding
- Efficiency in CPR Plus is desired
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
