Frontier Senior Living is seeking an outstanding Health Services Director (RN, LVN, or LPN) to manage and oversee the Health Services Department for Summer Wood Alzheimer’s Special Care community located in Moses Lake, WA. Demonstrated success as a leader in similar settings is required.
The Health Services Director works closely with the Executive Director and Resident Care Coordinator to ensure the quality care of all residents. This role requires an understanding and commitment to the principles and values of the community and must demonstrate flexibility with residents who have complex situations. Responsibilities include the assessment and service planning process to ensure resident care needs are evaluated, as well as providing training and oversight of the Medication Techs and Caregivers.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to appropriately delegate responsibility with necessary authority without relinquishing overall responsibility and accountability for the delegated task.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems in a timely manner, develop effective resolutions, and ensure implementation of the proposed resolution.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement interim service plans in partnership with the Resident Care Coordinator as care needs change.
- Provide oversight and required documentation for third-party providers for coordination of care.
- Conduct routine audits amongst other departments as directed by the Executive Director.
- Implement systems and protocols per company standards along with state, federal, and industry regulations.
- Maintain compliance practices per state, federal, industry, and company regulations.
- Become familiar with the service plan program and all of the reports it can create.
- Order incontinent supplies and durable medical equipment as needed.
- Ensure communication and documentation from home health, hospice, and ancillary care providers.
- Complete MAR audits and monitor the medication room for organization and cleanliness.
- Assist with tracking and recording incident reports and assure investigations are completed.
- Work as manager of the day as directed by Executive Director.
- Maintain a monthly budget for the Health Services department.
- Ensure all health services staff have the necessary training required for their job.
- Full staff management responsibilities for healthcare staff including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
- Complete delegation training, assessments, and documentation per state guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with clinical budget in all aspects: staffing and supplies.
- Be on-call for clinical support to the community and staffing to cover shifts if needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Must have appropriate nursing licensure (RN, LVN, LPN) in good standing.
- Proficiency in English preferred.
- Receives and maintains CPR certification.
- Experience in clinical nursing practice or long-term care administration preferred but not required.
- Must possess a current state-specific driver's license and appropriate driving record.
- Must be able to easily lift and carry 50 lbs.
