Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal Registered Nurse will possess strong clinical skills, a deep sense of empathy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. This role involves working during night shifts to provide exceptional care to critically ill patients, ensuring their needs are met with the highest standard of medical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients' conditions continuously, utilizing advanced technology and clinical expertise.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to hospital protocols.
- Provide comprehensive, individualized nursing care to patients, including wound care, ventilator management, and other life-saving interventions.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including doctors, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients' families, providing updates on patient status and offering emotional support during difficult times.
- Participate in shift handovers, ensuring that all relevant patient information is accurately conveyed to the incoming nursing team.
- Quality and Safety:
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in critical care nursing and to continuously improve patient outcomes.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the ICU, helping to identify areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
So, as you would expect, being an ICU RN you are responsible for quality patient care, collaborating with your team and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
