Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to advance a career in healthcare finance at a Best in KLAS value-based care enabler. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will be responsible for completing a range of financial operations activities.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Managing monthly closing process according to adherence to GAAP.
- Preparing and posting required journal entries to record business activity accurately and completing other month-end and year-end closing processes including tracking accruals, analyzing account activity, reconciling account balances, and validating financial reports.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks.
- Ensuring that processes are completed in accordance with corporate schedules, and that all submissions follow corporate policies.
- Monitoring internal controls and escalating compliance issues or concerns as appropriate.
- Reconciling accounts, including the proper allocation of expenses across various departments and functional areas.
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Developing and implementing best practices and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations and reporting.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting operations.
- Supporting external auditors, advisors, and other potential stakeholders in testing and demonstrating the accuracy and robustness of accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with a focus on financial reporting, monthly close, and journal entries within a medium to large company.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or other ERP systems (i.e., Netsuite, Oracle, Sage).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
WHAT WE WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE
- Experience in the healthcare industry or a similar field a plus.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification strongly desired.
- Experience in a start-up or high growth company a plus.
- Prior experience working in a public accounting firm a plus.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and project management.
Additional Information
The salary range for this role is between $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year.
COMPENSATION:
The listed compensation range is paid bi-weekly per our standard payroll practices. Final base pay decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, years of relevant experience, education, location, and licensure/certifications.
