As our company grows, we are seeking an experienced Project Accountant with a background in construction to strengthen our finance team. Position Overview: As a Project Accountant, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, assist project teams with budgeting and cost control, and support decision-making with financial insights. Your contributions will help maintain the financial integrity of our projects while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial aspects of multiple construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Prepare and review project budgets to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Track labor, materials, and subcontractor costs, ensuring they remain within budget.
- Generate and submit monthly financial reports, including profit/loss statements, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide financial support and insights.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and change orders.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
- Reconcile project-related accounts, such as accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Assist in preparing year-end financial statements and audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of project accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate financial data effectively and work well with project teams.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, billing, and change order processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
