This role offers a hybrid working schedule with a minimum of three days per week required in the Salt Lake City plant location.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily and monthly account reconciliations for the plants within the division.
- Understand and keep updated with corporate accounting policies and ensure they are followed consistently.
- Analyze new or unusual transactions and identify the appropriate recognition in the general ledger.
- Coach and supervise member(s) of our Business Service Center to execute daily and monthly accounting activities.
- Analyze intercompany balances and execute the related settlement and reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with the cost accountant to obtain the necessary information to record capital projects and expenditures in general and sub-ledgers.
- Assist in the company’s annual audit/review processes.
- Assist in preparing reporting and compliance with state and local tax requirements in each location.
- Assist with plant-level and corporate-level special projects and implementing new accounting standards, financial controls, etc.
- Serve as back up other team members (e.g., AR, AP, Bank Management), when necessary.
Requirements:
Education and Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (e.g., Finance).
- At least 2 years of experience in industry or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong attention to detail, superior organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to act independently and prioritize responsibilities and tasks.
- Must be highly computer literate in data mining and ERP systems.
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Salt Lake City location.
Preferred
- Accounting/financial analysis experience within a manufacturing company, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Experience with NetSuite as an ERP.
- Experience with state and local tax requirements and reporting.
- Experience working with a non-US-based shared service center.
- CPA and/or CMA certification (active or inactive).
