Job Overview – Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager – 32170

Responsible for accounting functions of the organization, including journal entries, tracking and auditing financial information, analyzing financial records and transactions, maintaining accounting software and the creation and distribution of financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Work with VP of Finance to establish, develop, and maintain accounting policies
- Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain the organization's general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenues
- Monthly reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts
- Manage monthly and annual accounting close and prepare financial reporting
- Manage external audits for financial statements and retirement accounts.
- Manage preparation of annual 990 tax returns.
- Manage grant accounting and reporting
- Assist with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and directives; make recommendations
- Complete monthly and ad hoc reporting packages including relevant commentary through cross functional collaboration with each business function
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Public accounting firm background strongly preferred, experience considered
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ability to research accounting literature, establish a position, draft supporting memorandum and obtain auditor acceptance
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint
- Sage Intacct experience is desirable
- Data warehouse, BI reporting and dashboard creation desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to adapt to multiple demands and shifting/competing priorities, and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
