Summary
Hart Energy, leader in energy content, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant. The role will be responsible for the prompt monthly closing of all entities and/or business lines assigned; the preparation of the financial statement package; analysis of profit and loss accounts as well as balance sheet accounts; and the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. This position will work directly with the accounting / finance team to ensure prompt monthly processing as well as accurate and timely financial accruals. The position will also assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

- Prepare manual general journal entries, adjust journal entries, review automated journal entries.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including (but not limited to) prepaid, accrual cost, deferred revenue and bank reconciliation, as well as facilitate the resolution of issues of General Ledger reconciliations.
- Work directly with the business unit leaders to prepare the deferred revenue calculation.
- Responsible for the monthly financial variance analysis (actual to budget; actual to forecast) and explain major fluctuations for all business lines / entities.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Active management of A/R to determine bad debt and write offs, and coordinate with sales team as needed.
- Assist in the researching and interpreting of new accounting policies and recommending new guidance.
- Maintain internal controls and assist in the updating of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with the maintenance of an organized chart of accounts.
- Assist in annual external audits; prepare schedules and other required items.
- Communicate all activities to Controller.
- Maintain immaculate records.
- Perform other ad hoc responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience accounting, finance, month-end close, and/or financial reporting experience.
- Intacct SaaS experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Hubspot a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion with regards to payroll data, customer data and financial data required.
- Ability to work accurately under time constraints.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to balance long-term assignments with daily assignments and inquiries.
