Job Title: Controller, Americas
Overall Responsibility:
Oversee accounting operations and provide IFRS/GAAP guidance for the Americas
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Manage all corporate accounting functions for the Americas including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, cost & inventory accounting and reconciliations
- Be the subject matter expert on revenue recognition, lease accounting and current GAAP/IFRS topics
- Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including ensuring all inter-company transactions are recorded appropriately
- Assume the lead role in month-end and year-end close process
- Collaborate with the external auditors for annual audit work & coordinating the annual physical inventory
- Maintain an effective system of internal controls over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- Work with third-party income tax preparers to ensure accurate and timely income filings (federal and state)
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations
- Drive effective cash management through best practices in collections and payables as well as lead short-term cash flow forecasting for the Americas
- Manage a small team across multiple accounting functions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial strategy and decision-making

Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- CPA certification required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required, including proven experience in a finance leadership role
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or proficiency in similar accounting software strongly preferred
- Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or proficiency in a similar financial consolidation and reporting tool strongly preferred
- Experience with multi-currency accounting for transactions and translations
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
