DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble, review, and verify invoices
- Code and scan invoices into system timely
- Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
- Generate past due vendor aging reports
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Follow up the correct payments to the vendors
- Prepare analysis of accounts
- Review vendor statements regularly
- Organize expense reports and process for payment
- Resolve vendor payment issues
- Assist in set up of new vendors
- Create purchases orders as needed
- Assist with year-end audit request
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
- Assist in the maintenance of department related records
- Other duties as assigned
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs): as the cash prompt vendor discounts tracker, etc.
SKILLS:
- Proficient in Excel and SAP
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Comfortable in a Plant or Corporate environment
- 1 - 3 years of AP experience
- Basic journal entry and financial reporting knowledge
- Complies with all company policies and procedures
- Additional duties as assigned by management
- Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
- Prior accounts payables position experience (2 years)
EDUCATION:
Post-secondary educational degree (2 to 4 year degree from college, university, technical school, military, vocational or other advanced educational institution)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Computer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel as well as accounting software). Proficient knowledge and application of accounting principles.
