Position Description:
The Principal Portfolio Manager plays a key role at ATD and will partner closely with ATD functions to bring to life a portfolio of strategic initiatives. An experienced leader, the Manager will quickly learn and translate strategic initiatives to roadmaps & action plans and will drive effective execution of assigned portfolio(s). The Principal Portfolio Manager should demonstrate an agile and adaptive mindset and a passion for value measurement (via KPIs and metrics) and continuous improvement. This individual will work collaboratively with business leaders and other key ATD stakeholders to identify needs and ensure effective prioritization, execution, and value realization of the assigned portfolio(s).
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and lead the governance and delivery of a program or group of significant projects within a function, using an appropriate project management methodology to give assurance that intended outcomes are identified and achieved. 25%
- Lead execution of the functional road map, establishing and managing business processes, programs, and projects, resource allocation, key performance indicators (KPIs), and governance activities. 20%
- Contribute to the formation of one or more elements of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs. 20%
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans for projects to identify relevant stakeholders, to develop positive stakeholder relationships, and to ensure that each stakeholder has an appropriate share of voice. 15%
- Manage identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with projects, escalating these matters where appropriate. 10%
- Review existing operations and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure continuous improvements are delivered. 10%
