KPMG is currently seeking an Audit Associate to join our Audit Services team.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team to conduct financial statement audits and ensure accuracy and reliability of client financial information while maintaining professional integrity.
- Learn to prepare clear and well-structured audit documentation regarding our understanding of clients’ processes and IT systems.
- Execute and document testing of client controls and financial statement account balances; identify potential misstatements and control deficiencies.
- Support the execution of a high-quality audit through assigned tasks and professional client interactions.
- Identify process improvements and audit efficiencies; support project management activities.
- Support the use of Data and Analytics (D&A) in the audit, including data extraction and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university.
- Must be pursuing the state-specific education requirements to be a licensed CPA.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, or data analytics preferred.
- Demonstrated quality service mindset and foundational knowledge of accounting principles.
- Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, and research skills.
- Strong communication, time management, and relationship-building skills.
- Must be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations.
- Work location will require ability to work on client site(s) in Buffalo, New York.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship.
