National HVAC Service is a provider of heating, air conditioning and mechanical services, primarily in the commercial, industrial, and institutional market sectors.
It is a multi-location HVAC services group with corporate headquarters in Nashville and is part of Service Logic, the largest privately held Energy and HVAC/Mechanical company in the United States.
The Role
This role will be a significant member of the accounting team, gaining broad exposure across a variety of areas and working directly with multiple leaders in the Accounting & Finance Team. The role is focused on General Accounting, Construction, and Fixed Assets, with the opportunity for special projects.
This role is hybrid, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for Fixed Assets, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and related journal entries and reconciliations
- Perform accounting adjustments on Construction Projects and work closely with Accounting Manager and Business Unit leader on project reporting and accounting.
- Perform general accounting journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Responsible for weekly cash reconciliations and monthly bank reconciliations
- Point of contact for all locations’ corporate credit cards and responsible for ordering new/replacement cards and related reporting.
- Maintain an accurate accounting ledger by properly posting transactions
- Manage forward momentum of projects alongside day-to-day responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with the internal management team
- Attend relevant training sessions and meetings
- Participate in adhoc projects as they arise
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- 2 years accounting experience, minimum
- Experience with Great Plains, preferred
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and take initiative
- Ability to organize workload and adapt to change
