Job Responsibilities:
- Supervision of personnel that prepare subsidiary ledgers (A/R, A/P, J/C, fixed assets, cash management, payroll) and the posting of this transactional data to the general ledger. Jointly responsible with the Plant Controller for performance evaluation of personnel, including recommending training, hiring, and termination.
- Prepares and posts recurring, standard, and correcting entries to the general ledger after review of interfaced data from subsidiary ledgers.
- Assists in physical inventory counts.
- Prepares government-related reporting, including census reports, real estate and personal property tax filings.
- Assists with financial close and reporting requirements.
- Responsible for account reconciliations, as well as subsidiary ledger verification.
- Assists internal/external auditor(s) as required.
- Preparation of ad-hoc financial reports for internal and external sources, as required.
- Provides support for all other tasks as assigned by the Plant Controller.
- Adheres to and abides by all ITAR-specific job standards and training. Protects and properly safeguards ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensures dissemination or disclosure of and access to “protected data” occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content.
- IMMEDIATELY notifies Supervisor/Manager, Human Resources, Legal (email: compliance@samuel.com) or the Samuel Ethics Alert Hotline of known or suspected unauthorized disclosure, release of or access to protected ITAR content.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- At least 5 years of related accounting experience in a fast-paced professional environment. Manufacturing experience a plus.
- At least 2-5 years management/supervisory experience.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of ERP systems.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
- Must have the ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages.
- Must be able to pass an ITAR-grade background check.
- Ability to maintain total confidentiality.
