AERMOR is seeking a qualified candidate with extensive DoD Global Force Management (GFM) knowledge and experience. This is to support the Joint Staff J-35 GFM Policy and Doctrine branch in Norfolk, Virginia. The qualified candidate would join a small AERMOR team that supports the creation and maintenance of GFM related process documents.
Responsibilities include:
- You will draft, review, and edit GFM related documents. This work is to support the policies and processes that enable global deployment of DoD military forces. These documents include Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff directives such as CJCSM 3130.06, "Global Force Management Allocation Manual." It also includes supporting the periodic updating of the Secretary of Defense's classified Global Force Management Implementation Guidance.
- You will research complex command and control processes from a top-down strategic perspective. The GFM processes exist to support Presidential and Secretary of Defense decision making. The work in this position directly supports the Joint Staff J-3 and senior hierarchy in advising the Secretary of Defense regarding military force employment.
- You will be eligible to travel infrequently. When needed this could be Arlington, Virginia or places where DoD has unified command headquarters.
- You will help edit the GFM Enterprise Integration Architecture. This is the authoritative collection of GFM process diagrams produced using the DoD architecture framework (DoD-AF). This requires good business process model and notation (BPMN) understanding and fundamental Microsoft Visio experience is desired.
Required skills and experience:
- 4+ direct years with Global Force Management (GFM) or joint planning and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with at least two GFM enabling systems such as JCRM, JOPES, Logbook, Advana Orion, and GFMIT.
- Fundamental experience with Microsoft Visio.
- Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 Associate level experience. Credentialed as Associate level or greater is desired.
- An understanding of military command and control to include at the Military Department or Combatant Command level.
- Statutory and joint policy knowledge. This includes DoD organization and processes.
- Experience reviewing and editing DoD, joint, and Military Service publications.
- Joint and Military Service doctrine knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience in military planning and operational employment.
- Experience with process improvement methods with focus on the military planning and execution systems, this can include:
- Deployment and redeployment processes.
- DoD wide DoD-AF architecture framework or BPMN equivalent.
- Modeling and simulation.
- Business process descriptions and improvement.
- DoD Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS).
