Major Duties:
- Assist in different area functions such as processing payments, client-facing scenarios, analyzing documents for efficient processing, and identifying discrepancies related to payments.
- Support various groups in relation to processing international wires/money movement.
- Execute wire transfers, prepare and produce client disclosures, resolve client inquiries, and relay wire information to clients and Support Partners over the phone, ensuring adherence to Dodd-Frank regulations.
- Analyze letters of directions daily to ensure efficient processing from start to finish.
- Assist with inputting and approving various transactions using different accounts such as domestic and global.
- Initiate electronic movement of funds, wire transfers, checks, and Foreign Exchange involving trades, dividends, corporate actions, and journal postings under direct supervision.
- Execute transactions as requested and confirmed by clients/servicing partners within daily time frame deliverables.
- Facilitate electronic movements of funds and/or foreign exchange processing within defined procedures and timelines.
- Maintain a strong understanding of required steps involved with each activity in payment processing and proactively communicate with team leads, clients, and servicing partners to escalate complex problems.
- Address the requirements of each activity in a timely fashion, adhering to Northern Trust and Enterprise Operations Risk Management/Compliance guidelines, and escalate any issues to management.
- Review and maintain client records related to international wires processed, inclusive of any related documentation.
- Maintain/develop strong knowledge of complex business applications critical to all payment types.
- Handle repair exceptions for both incoming and outgoing wires.
- Work out of various queue-based sources such as email and wires for cancellations and confirmations.
- Identify service efficiency and delivery enhancements, participating in business unit initiatives related to process, technology, and system enhancements when directed by management.
- Assist in driving cross-skill initiatives to support multiple areas in payment operations.
- Work towards becoming proficient in all areas of the job.
Experience:
- A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred.
- Related Industry qualification/or studying towards is preferred.
Knowledge:
- Strong work ethic and ability to work under high pressure.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of payment/banking knowledge including wire instructions.
- Good interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong Excel skills and usage of a Macro is a plus.
- Good understanding of using SharePoint when housing or retrieving documents.
- Must be comfortable speaking to clients via phone daily.
Holidays and Overtime:
- May be required to work overtime, holidays, and weekends based on business needs.
