Responsibilities
SG’s Asset Backed Securitization team works with new and existing clients to provide creative financial solutions utilizing the fixed income capital markets through new issuance securitization. The structuring and analytics position requires a deep understanding of the various portfolio collateral characteristics of consumer, corporate and operational assets, such as automobiles loans and leases, small and large ticket equipment, consumer loans, commercial real estate, and other esoteric asset types such as aircraft leases, solar power, railcar, datacenters and others:
The structuring position is technical in nature and requires manipulating large data sets along with the design, development, maintenance and use of complex spreadsheet and Intex cash flow models for structured finance transactions to provide:
- New issue securitization capital structures proposals
- Rating agency stress scenarios for achieving bond ratings for new issuance
- Credit analysis for credit committee and risk approvals.
- Bond analytics and calculations for various investor disclosures, including pitchbooks, dealer roadshows, preliminary and final offering memoranda
- Investor access during the marketing and pricing phase of primary securities offerings
- Pricing tie-out in a joint lead role for ABS offerings
Specifically, the role entails:
- Performing cashflow modeling and structuring analysis using both Excel and Intex for various asset class types for SG’s ABS and CMBS banking platforms
- Structuring ABS transactions and provide analytics that are detailed, accurate, clear, concise and consistent with deal documentation
- Meeting timely execution of requests from banking team, clients, and others
- Demonstrating ability to willingly take direction from banking team, immediate supervisors and others and to respond appropriately
- Providing clear detailed communication on work products that is supported primarily by analysis, cash flow results and quantitative metrics
- Creating stratification data tables using Excel and/or CAS

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proactive problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently as well as collaborate with team members
- Strong proficiency and technical skill in using Excel (including VBA), Intex (cdi programming language), Bloomberg.
- Understanding of financial functions, cashflow modeling and “bond math”, including forecasting of prepayments, defaults
- Ability to understand industry concepts, including net present value, YSOC, risk retention, priority of payments, breakeven analysis, decrement tables, legal final maturities, residual valuation, rating agency methodologies, deal surveillance, prepayment and default forecasting.
- CAS, Python, Microsoft Access. SQL, cdi programming language
- Series 79 & 63.
Must Have:
- General/Technical Skills: Excel (VBA), Intex (cdi programming language), Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 5-8 years of experience
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering
- Language(s) English

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
