Job Summary
Prepare specialized financial reports and journal entries according to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements. This role will specifically be part of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting team which manages the accounting treatment of vendor contracts and other COGS related financial data.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries into General Ledger accounts, and document account reconciliations.
Maintain and enhance accounting control procedures.
Compare and review budgets and COGS expenditures.
Timely delivery of financial information to stakeholders.
What You Will Contribute
- Prepares accurate internal financial reporting documents.
- Creates and maintains prepaid and accrual schedules.
- Maintains a strong attention to detail.
- Implements advanced Excel techniques into schedules.
- Builds relationships with team members across the company to acquire proper support for expenditures.
- Analyzes financial information to verify accuracy and identify trends.
- Coordinates and follows through with the month-end closing schedule.
- Analyzes vendor contracts to identify payment terms.
- Provides financial reports to management and answers inquiries as necessary.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Prepares and posts journal entries and General Ledger reconciliations.
- Interacts with internal and external auditors as necessary to complete audits.
- Maintains knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, SEC requirements, and other relevant accounting regulations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Considerable knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Required)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting reporting systems (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Technical / Business experience (Required)
- 4-7 years relevant work experience (Preferred)
- CPA (Preferred)
