Position: Research Analyst (4+ years of experience)
Location: India
Research analysts require strong mathematical and statistical skills or in-depth knowledge of data analytical skills. Through sophisticated data-driven mathematical models, analysts derive useful information to help achieve business goals, from improving performance to cutting costs. An ideal candidate should have experience in the Telecom, Media, or Technology sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Gathering and analyzing data on market trends and consumer demographics, customer needs, and buying habits to create forecasts and optimize marketing efforts.
- Interpreting findings to determine pricing strategies, forecast future trends, and develop targeted marketing strategies.
- Reading and analyzing various filings like 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K reports, and other SEC regulatory documents to understand financial growth, market share, market conditions, net gain/loss, customer penetration, and acquisition-retention strategies.
- Assessing the impact and performance of marketing programs and strategies and collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop solutions.
- Creating tables, graphs, reports, and presentations to present findings to senior managers and clients.
- Developing and refining processes for data collection and analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
- Extensive experience with market share, flow share, and competitive analysis.
- Mathematics and statistics skills to work with data and develop models.
- Ability to recognize patterns to find useful information in unstructured data.
- Research, fact-checking, and validation skills to ensure valid data sources and verify accuracy.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to find value and understand data.
- Communication, presentation, and writing skills to present findings derived from data.
- Financial skills to calculate the financial performance of companies, especially in accounting and finance operations.
- Focus and organization to work on multiple tasks and projects.
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships with teams from other departments.
- Knowledge of the company’s business to understand customer behavior and market trends relevant to the industry.
- Technology skills to work with various research, data analytics, modeling, and predictive tools, as well as business productivity software.
- Forecasting to determine future trends, often presented in charts, infographics, and other visual aids.
- Problem-solving skills to address challenges of data collection and analysis, guiding decision-makers toward solutions revealed in the data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree at minimum; MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
- 4+ years of relevant experience, including coverage or knowledge of the Telecommunications, Media, & Technology sectors.
- Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus.
- Employee management experience a plus.
- Expertise in Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment.
