Summary
This position works to maximize results and increase profitability for strategic client relationships by performing financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, resource management, and expense control. The Senior Legal Project Analyst supports the firm’s practice management efforts. These efforts include: analyzing client and matter financial information; collaborating with multiple internal departments to encompass a variety of tasks related to profitability analysis; responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating practice and project management platforms and tools; and communicating to stakeholders the use tools and best practices related to matter management.
Location
This position can be remote. Candidates may be required on occasion to visit the local office when/if needed.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise in preparing reports and analyses that highlight the financial performance at the client and matter/project level related to budgets, production, fees and revenue.
- Analyzes and reports financial performance metrics and compares financial and operational performance against internal and external benchmarks.
- Identifies trends in financial performance and provides recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinates projects and implements project management best practices by actively seeking opportunities to improve processes, create efficiency, and automate tasks to include but not limited to creating and maintaining templates; optimizing workflows; creating efficiencies via Microsoft Outlook suite of applications.
- Communicates and coordinates with both internal stakeholders (attorneys, other staff departments) and international colleagues on a variety of tasks to include budgeting, accruals, forecasting, and management briefings.
- Compiles and analyzes progress reports and/or follows-up with lawyers on matter plans that require modification or communication with clients.
- Conduct thorough research and data collection to fulfill assignments leveraging firm tools and databases and internal points of contact.
Desired Skills
Demonstrable proficiency in spreadsheets, databases and large data sets, to include demonstrated experience using vLookup and PivotTable functions. Solid analytical skills required along with exceptional attention to detail, especially related to data quality and accuracy of results. Must have strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, take initiative and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate and communicate with diverse attorney and staff points of contact globally, at all levels of the firm. Proficiency with Power BI and HighQ preferred. Previous experience in a law firm or other professional services firm desirable.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field.
Minimum Years of Experience
- 4 years' experience in financial analysis, accounting or similar type work.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $97,049 - $140,283 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.
The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
