This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant with the ability to thrive in our fast-paced, growing organization. This individual must be able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as a part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are also required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting support for regional operations.
- Heavily involved in the month-end close process.
- Preparation and maintenance of monthly accruals across multiple plant operations.
- Work with plant personnel to ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Work closely with regional management on analysis of operating results.
- Prepare timely and accurate management reporting.
- Reconciliation of balance accounts.
- Perform standard and ad-hoc analysis.
- Evaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies.
- Provide support related to internal and external audit requests.
- Acquire a strong knowledge of the business.
- Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or relevant accounting experience; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with CPA/Masters degree.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and time management ability.
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.
- Manufacturing or construction and inventory accounting experience a plus.
- Ability to travel on occasion (<5%).
