About the Role:
As the Lead Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations and guiding strategic financial direction. You will oversee a small team of accountants while ensuring adherence to rigorous accounting standards and collaborating on human resources activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support growth and profitability.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts.
- Oversee daily financial operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow management.
- Manage payroll processing and potential bonus programs.
- Books reconciled, Monthly PNL, Check Runs.
- Reports to CFO while managing a small team or AR and AP roles.
- Must have experience with General Ledger and Claims for logistics.
- Financial Controls and Compliance:
- Implement and enhance financial processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Safeguard against fraud and financial mismanagement.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of accounting professionals, overseeing hiring, training, and performance reviews.
- Manage basic HR activities such as onboarding and policy adherence.
- Collaboration and Strategic Alignment:
- Partner with operational departments to enhance financial performance and support logistics objectives.
- Evaluate and manage financial risks related to market conditions and investments.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
- Prior experience leading accounting teams (2-5 members).
- Minimum 2 years using QuickBooks Online.
- Minimum 3 years in financial planning, budgeting, and compliance.
- Minimum 2 years overseeing HR activities.
- Strong knowledge of financial law, regulatory standards, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in finance, accounting, MBA, or CPA.
- Experience in logistics or transportation industries.
- Experience with ERP systems in logistics.
- Experience in mergers, acquisitions, or capital markets.
Location & Schedule:
- Position Type: Full-time - onsite
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary and Benefits:
- $120K+ based on qualifications.
