Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing Finance & Strategy

The Finance & Strategy teams serve as trusted advisors to the company, informing and guiding critical executive decisions through insightful analyses & thought partnership. We are looking for a bright, driven individual who will succeed in a fast-paced environment and support our team in making sound recommendations that will allow the company to scale as we propel the business now from a Billion revenue to the Multi-Billion era.
This role will partner closely with Marketing teams, providing a wide breadth of exposure to leaders and partners. The ideal candidate should have strong financial modeling and forecasting skills, excellent communication skills and attention to detail, and be able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Play an active role in cross-functional Marketing workstreams, advising on strategy, monitoring costs, and keeping the Finance organization in the loop on important developments.
- Use financial modeling and innovative analytics to improve Zendesk’s understanding of its CMO organization, the value it delivers, and how that value can be increased.
- Facilitate effective decision-making by creating financial summaries and sharing information clearly through presentations.
- Provide Finance oversight for a marketing planning software called Allocadia.
- Perform core responsibilities around month-end financial close, forecasting, and preparation of management reports related to financial results.
- Serve as primary F&S point of contact & approver on critical processes such as purchase requisition approvals and hiring requisition submission/approval.
- Tackle new & evolving priorities for the team, including ad hoc analyses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, investment banking, consulting, private equity, or another relevant field.
- Exceptional MS Excel & Google Workspace (GSheets, GSlides) skills required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve data issues/needs quickly.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize and communicate information across teams; comfortable presenting to executives.
- Strong EQ, experience partnering across matrixed organizations, and an appreciation for building deep business partnerships.
- Experience with financial planning systems strongly preferred - Adaptive experience specifically a plus.
- Experience with SQL a plus.
