The Senior Project Analyst will develop, manage, and execute all phases of project financial tracking for port projects. In addition, this position will create custom reports for trend analysis of budget expenditures and tracking of department capital and operating budgets. This position utilizes widely diversified knowledge of project finance activities and draws upon experience and exposure to various types of projects and clients.
Essential Functions:
- Support project managers in matters relating to cost control of projects.
- Develop and implement project finance tracking documents or systems necessary to support assigned projects.
- Effectively communicate with internal departments on project finance issues.
- Exercise independent and professional judgment in solving problems and coordinating issues as they relate to cost and in dealing with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and team partners in solving cost problems.
- As directed by the department head, develop and update project finance tracking procedures.
- Perform detailed cash flow analysis of project performance and project cash flow expenditures for the duration of a project.
- Assist in analyzing cost and time-related contractor claims.
- Manage and maintain changes and updates to all budgets.
- Issue regular update reports to team members on respective budgets.
- Assist in identifying gaps in the budget.
- Keep all budgets up to date and available on shared folders, notifying the team of changes.
- Understand and manage all project invoices; work with the team to record a documented process of invoice review and approval.
- Develop consistent standards of formatting for each of the items above to be used in various monthly reports, updates, and government interactions as appropriate.
- During emergency conditions, all CPA employees are automatically considered essential employees and may be subject to recall. These events may include, but are not limited to, natural, man-made, or public health emergencies. Employees may be expected to perform emergency and/or recovery operations outside of their normal assigned responsibilities and routine working hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in a related financial or project management field and 5 years of experience in construction project finance management or 8 years of project finance management experience.
- Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Proficient PC skills including proficiency in various software used in project finance management, such as Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Prior experience with ProCore, NetSuite, and Power BI is a plus but not required.
Licenses / Certification Required:
- Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
- Must be able to secure a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) to obtain access to restricted facility areas within a 90-day period.
Physical Requirement:
- Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work.
- May involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (20-30 pounds).
- Working closely with the team on job sites.
- Reports to the Vice President, Engineering and Construction.
