How You’ll Make An Impact
The Music Analysis team at Pandora is a foundational element of the Music Genome Project. In this role you’ll be on the front lines, analyzing everything from hot new releases to venerable long-tail content.

- Evaluate a large spectrum of detailed musical characteristics at the song level
- Succinctly express the most prominent aspects of an artist’s career and body of work
- Classify musical characteristics into taxonomies
Requirements
What You’ll Need
- Determine instrumentation & timbres of a song
- Accurately characterize metric and formal structures
- Broad knowledge of rock, rap, and related music genres with a deep understanding of both mainstream and underground music
- Be conversant in the musical and cultural elements of various rock and rap music styles from across the eras
- Versatility to be able to objectively evaluate music outside your own taste
- Familiarity with current pop and/or electronic music is a plus
- Experience working with the annotation of music data a plus
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the salary range for this position to be $57,300 - $63,450, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
