What You'll DoWe’re looking for a Senior Associate to join our Fund Administration, Tax & Oversight team. In this role, you'll be responsible for oversight/preparation of financial reporting activities prepared by third-party service providers including semi-annual/annual financial statements preparation, tailored shareholder reports, and reporting related to regulatory requirements.
- Financial Statement Preparation and Regulatory Requirements - Prepare/review financial statements (including balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes, schedules of investments, notes to financial statements) for platforms in accordance with US GAAP and Regulation S-X for a group of assigned funds, on a semi-annual/annual basis. Calculate and/or review complex accounting adjustments. Perform audit checks to ensure statements are presented accurately. During annual audits, interact directly with external auditors. Provide feedback and suggestions to leadership about financial statement presentation as needed.
- Reporting Requirements - On a monthly basis, calculate, analyze, review SEC Yields for assigned funds, prepare/review data required for various regulatory reporting requirements, provide internal/external business partners with data as needed.
- Oversight of 3rd party service provider - Review reports provided by third-party service providers to ensure that output ties to source files. Review for accuracy/completeness and escalate exceptions to the service provider.
- Data Stewardship - Ensure that datasets for specific areas of focus are complete and accurate. Activities include ensuring that the financial reporting application is updated for changes within the mutual funds, researching new investment types and recommending disclosure updates to leadership.
- Team initiatives/Informal leadership - Serve as a mentor and technical resource for less experienced teammates. Coordinate and review less experienced team members' work.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, plus 6 or more years relevant work experience.
- Strong preference towards candidates with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with previous experience in investment-related or fund reporting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the investment markets, complex securities, and related accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Must be detailed oriented and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Must have proven abilities in problem solving, planning, time management, decision making, mentoring, and project management.
- Proficiency with Word and Excel required.
- Ability to learn systems and applications used within the firm required.
- This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$86450 - $116850 / year

This role offers an in-office and hybrid work arrangement in Des Moines, IA.
