This position is responsible for supporting the credit activities of Sherwin-Williams paint store customers. This involves collecting delinquent receivables for commercial accounts and processing accounts to third party collections as required. In this position, you will have direct customer phone contact to resolve discrepancies or disputes and facilitate collection of delinquent or overlimit balances. This position provides accurate reports to management to document all collection activity, status of accounts, costs, etc. and maintains open communication with customers and parent store to protect future business relationships and enhance repeat business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement successful collection activity to obtain optimum cash flow and profitability from the accounts.
- Reduce outside collection and bad debt expense through the establishment of an effective collection process.
- Provide accurate reports to Division, District and Stores to document collection activity.
- Lead implementation of Group, Division and District initiatives.
- Maintain open communication with customers and stores to protect business relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
- Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position.
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
- Have at least one (1) year of work experience in accounting or accounts receivable.
- Have at least one (1) year of work experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
- Have an associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Have prior work experience using spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications.
